The Ground Up Tomato Sauce Initiative puts into action Healthy Plymouth’s partnership with the non-profit Terra Cura to utilize the recently constructed garden beds throughout our schools and community. We will create hands-on garden programming that will allow our youth to plant, care for, and reap the produce from these gardens which will include making and eating their own tomato sauce. These gardens present an opportunity for students to reconnect with nature and learn about connections to the food system that have somehow fallen away from people in modern times. Healthy Plymouth’s Amazing Race “Racing towards Prevention from the Ground up.” will fund the garden programming this Fall.
Ways You Can Help
Register for the Race: The Healthy Plymouth Amazing Race is a team race where participants will race in teams of four around downtown Plymouth following clues and completing tasks. The first team to arrive at the finish line after completing all of the tasks is the winner. Prizes will be awarded for race winners as well as highest fundraising teams. The event will end with a community after-party. We are expecting over 400 people to participate in this event.
Volunteer: There are many different ways you can help to make the event as successful as possible. Share the Corporate Sponsorship Packet with businesses, join the planning committee, help plan the after-party, and more. We would also welcome your help to recruit people you know to become involved. Middle school through college students are also welcome to join our work. Depending on interest and experience, we can develop an internship or volunteer program that works for each individual.
Sponsor the Event: We are excited to offer several different sponsorship opportunities for your corporation. Please contact Regina Sherman at (774) 269-4815 or email@example.com for more information about sponsorship levels and details about making your contribution.
